Floss Fairy Progress

I was hoping to be alittle further along on this but that seems to be the case for all my stitching lately. LOL Today I had no reason not to get as much stitching done as possible. The boys all sat down stairs with dad or played outside, there wasn't any amazing movie on that caught my attention. So no reason not to stitch.

I am almost done with all the stitching done with the crescent colors. I will then just have to do the  backstitch, kreinik, and beads. Of which there is a ton!

My Lovely Valentine....

I received these goodies today from a friend of mine who was very sneaky! She was in "cahoots" with mom in sending me this box. I can't thank her enough for her generosity. Here is a peek at some of the things she sent my
way.

Stitching through the snow.

While it snowed and snowed this weekend I made some really good progress on Umbrella sky. This is the first page completed, of course it's the smallest page of the entire design but at least it is one less page to do. This one had alot of that one stitch here and one stitch over there, and so I felt like all I was doing was threading and un- threading needles all weekend. It will be interesting to see this one done since it is soo new that I don't think anyone has finished it before me. I hope in the end that it will look like all the others but there is always that fear that it won't be as "painted" looking as the picture.

Here is today's progress on Fairy Idyll. I am over to were the bunny stands and so hope to have him done by the end of the week. Stitch hoping to have the entire thing done in a month (that ends on March 4th, I think) and so I am a little behind schedule but will make up alot of work this week.

Our New little friend

Poptart (Our other fish) was looking a little lonely since we put him in the larger bowl so we decided to get him a buddy. Not too sure what we will end up naming this guys but so far I vote for "Shelly" since that's what I though my MIL called him when we brought him home.

"Poptart"
Ok "Poptart" is the red one and "Shelly" is the blue/green one. Any votes on names?  BTW Poptart got his name when just after we got him my 4yr old decided to put his little fingers all over the bowl with strawberry poptart filling sticking to the glass! LOL And so He is "Poptart".
"Shelly?"

My 5 hour finish!

I just finished this little ornament for my Ort's jar! I will be my entry into the GOS contest for this time around. It was very quick and fun to finish. My first time using the eyelet maker!

Stitched on 40ct Hint of Heather by Newcastle Linen with HDF Mystery Silks. I added a little purple butterfly and some size 15/0 beads to dress it up a bit!

Mira book pages!

I Just finished the first page of My stitching journal. I am not a very good scrap booking person, I just don't
see the finished pictures looking the way I think in my head but I think this page came out OK. I also included a pic of the title page.  It's hard to embellish this kind of book since it''s not a typical scrap book there is no room left between pages for the embossing or dimensional stickers. Which leaves me limited in the products I can use.

Word of the week- Plethora! AKA- Umbrella Sky

I have finished all of the tags of thread for Umbrella Sky. It took two days as it is very boring.....But now I am ready to begin.

I am not usually drawn to HAED (Heaven and Earth Designs) Designs but this one is awesome. I didn't even notice it until my mom said something but the girl in this pattern resembles my daughter Peyton. I'm not drawn to red either but since this pattern calls for 89 colors I thought it best not to change her dress to blue.
As far as Fairy Idyll - Here is the progress I have made today and yesterday - I am loving the yellows and pinks together and I am still concentrating on getting her finished within 30 days of the start. Weather that happens or not is another story! As you can see the weather has turned colder again and the snow has begun to fall, Perfect stitching weather!

Fairy Idyll......

So far I have not kept to my schedule as closely as I wanted to but I am hoping still to make good progress today. Here is what I got done over the last three days. I hope to get through the ruffle and the ribbon across the center under the blanket today and maybe If I am lucky I can get the other side of this section that hangs down finished too.

Week of no progress......

This week I had three days off in a row and still didn't manage to make good progress on Fairy Idyll. I had planned of completing the stitching portion by the end of February. However it does not look too promising. So to help along the stitching mojo. Me and charlie are setting a new goal for this week- I want her dress and her blanket done by Wednesday February 17th. That should get me back to where I should have been over this last week.  Keep your fingers crossed!

New Stitching Mascot!

Normally I don't do stuffed animals but as you can see this little face just got me! He matches everything I have my stitching stuff stored in, and his tatered little ears are just too cute. I couldn't leave him at the store! So I have dubbed him my new stitching mascot! I didn't stitch him and PLEASE don't ask how I know it's a boy! LOL

Here is Charlie:

So Far on Fairy Idyll!

This is how far I have managed to get over this last few days. It's been a little crazy around here. I have managed to work all the way to the bottom and get the pots for the plants along the left side finished and now I am slowly working up the dress that is hanging down. The fabric is working well, the colors are all showing up quite well. Anyway on to the eye candy!

Book Cover for my Journal!

Normally the finishing of a project is not at exciting as the finishing that makes that project into a "whatever" it is intended to be - like a pinkeep of needlebook for example. This is no exception for me however I did not do the stitching on this my mom made the fairy for me. The design is by Nora Corbett and it is the "J" fairy.

I finished this into a book cover for my stitching journal. The patterned sections are cotton, but the burgundy fabric is silk with silk ribbons that match. I
only had to sew on something on the front for the ribbons to tie too. I decided on these little metal jewelry links that I had. I sewed them on at each ribbon intersection and tied the ribbon through them to make a small bow on the top and botton where those ribbons meet the front. I will post a picture of these as soon as the fray check dries and the ribbon returns to it's regular color.
Ok here's the finished bows and a better pic of the spine.

Fairy Idyll.....

I still need to tag the floss and dye the fabric - I am thinking of a darker brown over the tan that I have. I will be getting a few stitches in tonight though and can't wait to see this one done. It is one of the few that I have never seen in person.

Well what I was thinking and what the dye did where very different! I wanted brown on tan I got purple on tan! Totally different - but it looks fine with the colors of the floss so I guess it was meant to be....Cuz I ain't doin it over! LOL

My stitching cabinet!

I reorganized this big guy today, it is a computer desk! It only took my about 3 hours!

Mira freebie progress

So I thought I would take a pic before and after the beads are put on to give some of you an idea how many beads are truly on one of her designs. This one is not as bad as some of them but they truly give it some major sparkle.
